My friend shared a recipe for shortcake that was more like pound cake, or perhaps gain a pound cake. It had an entire brick of cream cheese in there. I'm sure that can't be healthy, but wow-yum!
This strawberry deserves a pound cake of its own. It's an applique block that I made as part of my mom's birthday gift a couple of years ago. Getting it done on time is a super funny story, must tell in a future post.
Today I learned (for the millionth time) that if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. Thankfully I was just an onlooker, but anyhow, not a bad reminder for us all I guess. In case you want to hear something inspirational and nice...here's my usual pick me up.

That block is adorable! I'm such a strawberry addict I love them in anything - quilts or desserts...
I often find strawberry appliques a little "off", but you've found the perfect red for those berries! I so wish I didn't have another 2 weeks to wait for them in my garden....
Great applique!
And the cake sounds yummy...
Marisa! I just was looking at that block today in my as-yet-untried Applique Delights, thinking, now that I know how to applique (thanks to YOU! XOXO) I can try this out!
How funny.
I love those srawberries! All these beautiful quilts in your blog are getting me inspired for the next doll quilt swap!
Words to live by and those strawberries are the most delicious things!
