They say that are eyes are the windows of our souls. I think in a way it's true. It's really hard to tell what people are thinking unless you can actually see their eyes. (or so I believe at least!)
This weekend we had some alone time as adults because my generous sister babysat and I left the house with just my husband.
We did spend some time together with Auntie Co Co on Saturday night, however, and my sister got me addicted to a new quilt pattern - cathedral windows.
There's a lot of hand work going on here, but it's a cool way to showcase many different fabrics in a small space. I'm hooked!

Your creations are exquisite! Wow!
ReplyDeleteI love cathedral windows quilts, but I've never sat down to figure it out. It just looks so beautiful though.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog, and I love all of your projects! You are quite the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI just came back from Japan and Yuzawaya was one of my grandmother's favorite craft stores, so you know I made a stop. It's such a great store!
That takes my breath away. I have seen the pattern before, but none so lovely.

Thank you for dropping by my blog :)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful things you make!
Please join the hand printed fabric swap! I would love to have some "written" fabric! Your work is lovely and I am hoping for a really ecclectic mix.
ReplyDeleteI like Cathedral windows, but I would never do it... (I'd rather sash with white...) BTW I have that "feathered" print - in my "cat fur" fabric stash! Look again, it does kind of look like cat fur!
ReplyDeleteYour cathedral windows are SO STUNNING! And your photo... what a shot! I've always thought cw's were cool, but not something I'd ever make. Now seeing yours... looking so hip, crisp and fun... I'm considering doing a few.
ReplyDeleteStunning and beautiful!

It's been so much fun reading your blog -- it's not just your quilting (the cathedral windows are really something) but the photos are great. My daughter studied Japanese and is very into all things Japanese, so I want to make her a Japanese-style quilt. I will come to your blog for inspiration!

Wow your sister sure sounds nice. I love your finished block.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I appreciate it. I promise not to leave my quilting fabric in the washer. I do have some lovely fabric and I have sewn a lot, but I have never made a quilt. (don't tell) I do have a good friend who quilts and I am hoping to have her help me get started this summer.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Thanks for the comment on my blog! I love the cathedral windows - that is one I have not tried yet.
ReplyDeleteHello Marisa!
ReplyDeleteI love visiting your blog (off my roll) and checking out your beautiful creations. You are so talented! Thanks so much for posting your CW quilt with a link to the instructions. The reds and greens are gorgeous! I was so inspired that I decided to give CW a try and posted the WIP on my blog. Such fun! Thank you!
