Well, I ended up with a schedule conflict last night and moved my private knit lesson to Thursday, so stay tuned on that.
Back at PIQF a few weeks ago, I took an Amish quilting class from Roberta Horton.
The class itself did not involve any sewing of quilting at all. It was just a color study, and an exercise in how Amish people use color in their quilts.
If you ever get the chance to take this class from her (she travels to a lot of major quilt shows teaching it, even internationally!) I would highly recommend it.
I felt like a real artist!
If you have any other recommendations for me on good classes to take, please do let me know. I'm always looking for tips on what to take (or not to take for that matter).
Oh, in case you're wondering, mine is top row, second from the left.

That sounds like a fun class. Color study is always helpful.
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to take a color class, so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. I'm also excited that you're going to be knitting soon! I brought my knitting to the last scvqa guild meeting, and it was nice to keep my hands busy (even though I stuck out because of it!)
ReplyDeleteyou chose nice clear colours -- very amish. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to take that class! Her website doesn't show her schedule. I hope she will be at the NQA show in Columbus next year!!!
ReplyDeleteHa... top row, second from left caught my eye... before you claimed it. I like it. I would like to learn about colors too. BTW I believe you should feel like a real artist all the time, since you are one.
ReplyDeletethanks for the link...
ReplyDeletevery good your colours.
ciao ciao
Thank you for the class recommendation. I took a class working with plaids and her fabric lines many year ago. She was a fun teacher.
