PIQF 2007 Paparazzi - Annie Smith of Quilting Stash

It was a warm and lovely afternoon on the last day of PIQF 2007.

I was innocently and aimlessly wandering around the quilt show with my family, (waiting to pick up my quilts really) and who did I bump into?

The lovely, and talented Annie Smith. She whipped out her little camera and snapped a very cute family photo of us!

Annie of course, is my fav podcaster on the planet, and also publishes a beautiful blog on her web site www.simplearts.com.

I was thrilled to see her again, my husband felt like he had met a Hollywood movie star, and my son was more than happy to sing a little song for her.

You know I don't usually plant my face on the top of my blog...but if you're curious, you can check see her blog for the family photo. Blushing...I'm so honored! Thanks Annie!

Podcast mention from Annie - cool!

Not sure if you had the chance to listen to Quilting Stash podcast #92 yet, but Annie gave me another mention, with a link to my blog...

Thanks Annie, and I'm still listening to and loving your podcast about quilting. So very fun with tons of useful info.

Yesterday was Day Out With Thomas, where kids can ride inside a train car "pulled by" Thomas the Train. It was fun, and it took us to Felton, CA.

While we were hanging out there, we stumbled upon this very adorable quilt and yarn shop, Luminous Threads. If you're ever on your way to Santa Cruz, CA, or end up in Felton, it's worth a stop. The help is friendly, and the fabric selection is cool and funky too. Yarns there make me seriously sorry that I'm so bad a knitting.

Quilting Stash Podcast #87

Annie Smith (everybody's favorite podcaster - duh!) has just posed her podcast #87.

In it she talks about her adventures in Houston at quilt market, and all the cool stuff she ran into there.

One of the booths she and her daughter Kirsten really loved was the Clover booth - of course, would have been my favorite too.

Aparently, Clover is bringing the shaped yo-yo tools (ie. hearts, flowers, diamonds..etc) over to the states later this summer, so all you state-sider girls can buy them up and have a blast with them direct from your quilt shop. You can pre-order them online NOW!! from here.

Anyhow, Annie does make a quick mention of me in this podcast, so thanks again Annie, and as usual, keep up the great work.

The above is a picture of the sashet packs on their way out the door for teacher appreciation day. They were a huge hit. All the teachers loved them and praised them for being unique and adorable. Teachers and people who work with children have hearts of gold, so of course nothing but the best will do for them!
