Anyhow, I got this adorable Japanese craft book, and it had a very cool pattern for a bird. ISBN 978-4-413-00893-8
I decided to embroider it onto an old t-shirt for practice.
I'm sorta looking for more Japanese embroidery books. Any recommendations out there?

I am delighted to see the little sewing machine on your blog. You know I have a similar one, in black, that my dad bought for me when I was eight. Used to sew all my doll clothes on it. I looked up the Singer site you linked to, and I think mine was made in the 50s.
Thanks, you really made my day.
The little embroidery bird is lovely.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. :-) Your little bird is looking very cute.
I like the little bird:) I think superbuzzy might have had some Japanese embroidery books... not totally sure though & they might be sold if so.
I love the simplicity of the bird embroidery. Lovely. I only have a few Japanese Craft books but found them on eBay. I may be selling some of my quilting books soon- I will never live long enough to use them all!
