Turquoise immersion

At times I get hung up on one color and find myself going for it in various different ways.

Right now, turquoise seems to have attention.

I am spinning yarn in colorway "Parrotfish" by Girl on the Rocks that I picked up at Stitches West.

Meanwhile, I'm working on a Hawaiian applique block that I started a while back. There are lots of colors in there, but turquoise is one of the larger sections.

Hope your weekend is full of color. If you are favoring a certain shade, let me know your fav!

Love the turquoise. Any blue is always at the top of my list. Been my favorite color since I was 8. Yikes!

The nice thing about quilting is that you can use colors you would never select to wear. I look to tans and browns in clothing but for quilting, Japanese indigo is a favorite for sure.

I love turquoise, too! I have to stop myself from buying more turquoise jewelry. I mean come on, how many necklaces can I wear at a time?

The turquoise is beautiful. Love the yarn. I would love you to post a photo of the Hawaiian block when it's finished. I have done a lot of Hawaiian quilts, all hand appliqued, although only one hand quilted. I have usually used batik fabric against a solid for Hawaiian quilts, but now I am experimenting a bit with African prints. So much fun.

Pretty! I think I change my favorite color almost daily :) Although I seem to stick with varying shades of blue & green pretty often...
