I finally wrote the beginnings of the "Quilt Blogger's guide to Photography - your pictures will rock in 10 painless steps".
Before I post it up, I got to thinking that it might be fun to host a little photo contest.
In order to participate, you would take a 'before' photo of a project you're working on before you read the guide, then post the photo to your blog or to flickr.
It wouldn't even need to be of quilt blocks, but it could be of a clothing project, or a knitting project. It could be any hand made project actually.
Then, you'd need to read my 1 page guide to improve your photos, and after reading it take an 'after' photo of the same subject. Then you would need to post your 'after' photo too.
Let me know if it sounds like fun.

That sounds great! I always want my photos to look good. I have a great camera, but barely know how to use it...
Sounds intriguing! You do take lovely photos and it would be wonderful to learn how.
I put up a post about your idea on WiKnit, my knitting contest blog.
i'd play along as well. Might be very helpful!
I'd be really interested also!
This sounds interesting.
I'd love to join in too, if there's room for one more student!
I'm game! I have LOTS of photo on my blog and on flickr.
That sounds interesting even without it being a contest!
This is great! I thought I had a handle on photography until I started taking pictures of my work. Textiles can be tricky. Thanks! I'm in! - www.joycesdaughter.com

I'm interested. My photos never turn out like other people's photos.
It sounds like so much fun. I'm in when there is a way of learning to take better photos...
Sounds good. I wouldn't mind knowing how to make my knitting projects look better in photos.
